ON HER PERSONAL STYLE

My personal style is about function and comfort. This is the way that I’m lead by design. Creating pieces that you’ll wear over and over again. Like in architecture - where a building functionally leads the design, that’s the same way that I approach fashion.

HER VISION FOR HER LABEL KITX

My determination for KitX and the moment that I’ll be proud is that without compromising on the style or the desirability of the brand, I ensure that the overall impact of doing business and creating greater fashion is positive and not having a negative impact on the planet.

ON HER WARDROBE FAVOURITES

When dressing my go-to piece is the crushed linen KitX dress - it is agriculturally positive. It lives, it lasts, it’s a great easy design and I want to wear it all the time. I think investing in great shoes is so important. I don’t think you should ever skimp on shoes. Our KitX shoes are made in Portugal in a factory that do Givenchy, Lanvin, Pierre Hardy....they are an amazing factory. You just can’t compromise with the quality of shoes.

CURRENTLY ON HER WISH LIST

We’ve got an amazing leather jacket coming out that I know I’ll be wearing everyday in winter. A very cool cut shirt that I’ll be living in and I’m loving combining this with a long crushed linen skirt. And amazing cotton jersey that I’m wearing all the time and cut in a really good way. It’s the balance of those key pieces.

ON A DESIGNERS SHE ADMIRES

Phoebe Philo is doing an amazing job at Celine. She designs with her heart, it’s emotional design and people feel it. Woman feel it and that’s really beautiful. And she’s a bit punchy too. She’s just in touch with the woman and knowing what she wants to wear.

My favourite designers have always been Madeleine Vionnet, Madame Gres and Cristobal Baleciaga - I always look to those three. They are all functionally designed and they work with a great mind. They still work today and are completely timeless.

FAVOURITE HOLIDAY DESTINATION

I love Melbourne - my parents have a place on the Mornington Peninsula - it’s one of the best. The best wineries and beaches and it’s incredible in Summer. I also love skiiing in New Zealand, the Daintree Rainforest in Port Douglas, the South of France - anywhere!! Greek Islands...love Santorini, Mykonos. I LOVE Ibiza - one of my favourite places, it has that kind of hippy aesthetic.

SONGS CURRENTLY ON REPEAT

I am a bit of a music person. I love History by Groove Amarda, Flight Facilities - Claire De Lune, I love Icehouse - Hey Little Girl.

FAVOURITE FRAGRANCE

Commes Des Garcon Amazingreen - it’s incredible.

BEAUTY ESSENTIALS

I wear a lot of Dermologica - the skin repair serum. I also think what you put into your body is so important including quality fruit, vegetables and nuts.

LIFE LESSONS YOU’VE LEARNT ALONG THE WAY

  • You need to align yourself with people at every level that have a like minded value system, that is really important and paramount in building a team.

  • Be extremely savvy legally, expect the best but always prepare for the worst.

TO ESCAPE

I do yoga once a week which I absolutely love. I need to meditate more, I love it but I need to do more of it! Meditation is very important. Just being in the present moment and pulling yourself back into it. That’s all we’ve really got at the end of the day.
